Lashana Charles-Queely is a cultural producer, artist and crafter. Born in 1988, she has lived and worked in Aston throughout the years. With a background in performing arts, and a degree in media and cultural studies, gained at Kingston University, she has worked on arts festivals, programmed film screenings, masterclasses and talks.
In 2011, she worked as a supporting artist filmmaker working with groups of young people from North and South Birmingham to produce two films which were exhibited at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. She has worked for various arts and cultural organisations across Birmingham. Recently she has been working with collage and textiles to produce work that looks at the themes of community and conviviality. She hopes to collaborate with other artists of various backgrounds to create an artistic hub in Aston that can interact with other communities across the city.
Cassandra Wiggan is a Multi – disciplined Artist from the heart of Birmingham. She has trained with Identity Drama School and Birmingham School of Acting. Cassandra’s performances include: Rep theatre, Identity Drama School, Birmingham School of Acting, Drum Theatre, Women In Theatre, Drama and Some, White Chalk, Birmingham Opera Company, Graft Entertainment, WSDM, Miss Caribbean UK, MoovilleTheatre.
In 2014, Cassandra featured as a supporting actress for the Black Film Festival award winning docudrama ‘Inside Out’ and in 2015 worked with Gresham Frith Films, ‘4 Voices’. As well as being an actress, Cassandra is an award winning photographer, published writer and Spoken word performer who has honed in her skills through development programs and commissions.
