My name is Daniel Simpson. I am a Creative Artist with accomplished abilities in Graphic Design and Creative Writing - Poetry & Spoken Word. I have a BA Honours in Visual Communication and have 20 years or so experience in Graphic Design, both freelance and employed. My most recent employment was at Aston University’s Students Union, as a Graphic Designer/Visual Communicator in the Marketing Department.
This role required me to produce a variety of promotional and print ready material. I have always freelanced along side this. I am proficient and have experience in a variety of software applications including Adobe software packages including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. I am an honest, hardworking, creative and free-thinking individual with aspirations of creating an online hub/community or space where the youth are able to creatively express their thoughts and feelings in order to help alleviate issues with being misunderstood, confused with own identity, dealing with emotional, mental or even physical trauma via the creative mediums I utilise to therapeutically heal and understand myself.
I have a portfolio showcasing my creative writing or expressions (Poetry & Spoken Word) as well as examples of some of the Graphic Design I have done over the years (freelance & employed). I aspire to implement the same types of “therapy” I found that works for me, on the youth and share my experiences in the hopes that it resonates and is beneficial interpersonally to the user, positively impacting their lives.
